DID SOMEBODY SAY NASHVILLE?
WE DID! WE DID!
You heard that right, we are bringing Nashville to the Northland and it’s, here. to. stay!
But what exactly is it, and what does this mean, for you, me or anyone? We know Nashville, Tennessee is the home of country music. Boasting the historic Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry, Music Row, and endless country music mega stars that have made their way through the city. It’s the place to be, especially if you are an aspiring artist looking for your big break. Whether you are in the throes of the music scene or just love good ole country music, Nash has a little bit of something for everyone. But what if you AREN’T in Tennessee? What if you are here, like us, in the Midwest, with big dreams that you aren’t quite sure what to do with, or a just a hankering for original country music?
That’s our cue! And we are amped (pun intended)
Our mission is simple; North of Nashville is your home away from home, we will be your premier resource for Connection, Collaboration and Creativity, here in the North! What that looks like to us, is providing UNIQUE musical experiences, events and information for everyone; whether you are an artist, a fan or a vendor of sorts, you have a home here at North of Nashville. From opportunities for artist coaching, becoming featured with us, event sponsorship, collaboration, concerts and more. We strive for connection within our community, collaboration amongst fellow musicians and room for creativity to flourish. We are the hub the northland has needed, and we can’t wait to watch things grow!
Here is what we’ve done so far:
FEB 5, 2022:
North of Nashville Song Writers Showcase, held at the DECC, in Duluth, MN. The premise was to allow artists from around the area to submit their original songs to a contest for their chance to perform at the event alongside the featured artists, then have a music video made. The contest boasted song writing entries from as far as the twin cities! The event garnered over 250+ attendees, a specialized menu was created featuring Nashville hot Chicken Sandwiches and Lynchburg Lemonade. YUM! Local artists, Shane Nelson, Heidi Pack, Bo Allen, and guitarist Ryan Holte performed, along with song writing contest winner, Katie Sweitzer. The headliner of the night was star singer/songwriter, Buffy Lawson, all the way from Nashville! It was a hit in the community, only lighting a fire under us to give you more.
Fast forward to NOW!
When Bo and I sat down together with all of our big dreams and ideas, we both came to the conclusion that this would be nothing but an asset to the area. Bo shared,
“There just isn’t something special like this in the area, for fans, for venues to look to for artists, for artists to find inspiration and collaboration amongst one another. We are planting the flag for country music here in Northern, MN.”
That’s exactly what we intend to do! With the buzz of a 2nd North of Nashville song writers showcase in the works, merchandise, a collaboration with 23rd Veteran and big ideas on the horizon, expect us to be a household name!
